Advocacy and Capability-Building Workshop for Instructional Managers, Implementers and Stakeholders of Alllights Village GlobALS Nueva Ecija

GlobALS 2013 field operations in Alllights Villages Nueva Ecija commenced with cultural alignment among all partners through an advocacy and capability-building workshop.
For the first time since the inception of the Alllights Village project in Nueva Ecija, implementers and stakeholders of the project from the municipal to the sitio levels convened for the workshop. Centering on the launching of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the 9 Alllights Villages, DepEd officials from the new schools division superintendent to the instructional managers also assembled. A total of 50 participants attended the workshop held at the Conference Hall of DepEd Nueva Ecija Division in Cabanatuan City.
The workshop was hosted by Alllights Village project director, Ms. Jocelyn Remigio, and the provincial planning department head, Mr. Michael Calma, gave the welcoming remarks in behalf of Governor Aurelio Umali. In attendance were Mayor Roland Bue (Gabaldon, 1st Alllights Village) and Mayor Carmencita Natib-oc (Carranglan, soon-to-be 10th Alllights Village).

GlobALS program manager, Ms. Ann Marlita Montejo-Arevalo, presented the Peace Education module of GPFF in 3 sessions (Our Common Identity, Human Rights are Endowed to the People, and A Culture of Peace through Service). Using cognitive learning and activities to apply the concepts, the participants (especially those who will work in implementing GlobALS) gained consciousness that better empowered them to understand who they are and their role in the building of model Alllights Villages in Nueva Ecija.
