Department of Education Central Luzon announces implementation of GPFF Character-Based Education in all schools

 

Fifty three educational supervisors from eighteen divisions of Department of Education-Central Luzon were given the orientation and updates of GPFF programs particularly on Character Based Education during the annual Educational Supervisor’s Seminar on Values Education last April 17, 2012.

During the meeting, Dr. Isabelita Borres, Regional Director of Department of Education-Central Luzon, also announced that GPFF’s Character Based Education Curriculum will not only be implemented by pilot schools, but all throughout Central Luzon.

Ms. Sally Quimson, Executive Director of GPFF Philippines gave a brief introduction about GPFF while Ms. Joy Florentino, Program Manager of Global Peace Leadership Exchange Program discussed the All Lights Project in Nueva Ecija, a division of Central Luzon. The updates on Character Based Education book writing project and True Love Power activities were given by Ms. Caroline Alzate, Program Manager of Character Based Education Program.

The main speaker is Dr. Michael Zablan, President of GPFF Philippines, who further explained GPFF’s vision and objectives based on the three pillars of Interfaith Partnership, Strengthening Families and Culture of Service. Furthermore, he gave the ideals and objectives of education and becoming a true educator.

The supervisors expressed their support on implementing the curriculum in their divisions and participating future GPFF projects such as the International Professors and Educators’ Conference on July and Global Peace Festival Korea on August this year.
