GPFF promotes “Culture of Heart” education in Alllights Village Philippines
Residents of the nine Alllights Villages in Nueva Ecija participated in the recently held “Culture of Heart” Education seminar with the goal of making their villages model communities through the Alllights Village Project. The seminars were conducted in the respective communities and focus on GPFF’s vision, mission and core values.

Members of the villages all gave positive responses. They deemed individual and community behavioral issues as integral to community development. They agreed that in order to drive the development in their villages, their mindset and lifestyle must improve. They expressed gratitude to GPFF for giving them the model through the “Culture of Heart” seminar. At the end of each seminar, committees were formed with the mission of encouraging everyone to participate actively in community development projects that are in collaboration with GPFF and the local government units.
GPFF Philippines and Department of Education in Nueva Ecija will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Alternative Learning System (ALS) to be provided in Allights Villages effective November 2, 2012. As an accredited ALS service provider, GPFF’s “GlobALS” will help eradicate illiteracy in the communities by providing basic education (reading, writing and comprehension) among residents based on their available schedules.
Alllights Village continues expansion
A village of 69 families, the Gawad Kalinga (GK) community in Sitio Gatid, Sta. Cruz, Laguna, together with Alpha Phi Omega (APO), had a discussion with GPFF Philippines and GPFF Japan to validate the community for Alllights Village Project.
Together with APO, an international service fraternity organized to provide community service, leadership development and social opportunities for college students, GPFF made an ocular site visitation on the currently un-energized community. As agreed, delegates from GPFF Japan will visit the Philippines on December 26-28 for the first Philippines-Japan Global Peace Leadership Exchange.

Mayor Marcelino Perandos of Carmen, Davao del Norte also expressed his support in welcoming Alllights Village Project in his municipality. Recently, an ocular visit was also conducted in Purok 4, Guadalupe, Carmen. Once the requirements are fulfilled, Alllights Village Project will soon be able to provide lights to the 60 families residing in the community.
Thanks to Alllights Project, Sitio Kaigorotan now has a place where people in the community can gather at night.

Ms. Joy Remigio, program manager of GPFF – Alllights Village Project, presents the Culture of Heart Education to the residents of Alllights Villages in Nueva Ecija.
