
Construction of Multipurpose Hall for Education and Training
There were twenty-five (25) Korean participants and fifty families and local leaders of Barangay General Luna, Rizal, Nueva Ecija participated in the 8th Philippines-Korea Global Peace Leadership Exchange (GPLE) last October 9-12, 2012.
The Alllights Village project level up and now GPFF Korea donated three thousand dollars ($3000=P123,000.00) for the construction of Mulitpurpose Hall and two sets of big solar lamps for the multipurpose hall.


Alllights Village project is a sustainable program of GPFF which aimed to empower the poor of poorest to dream big and fulfill their dreams. One of their dreams is to be educated and be equipped in all aspects that will enable them to have the confidence, conviction and ownership of development and progress of their lives and their community. The multipurpose hall will be use as a learning center for the next program which is the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of the Department of Education wherein GPFF Philippines was accredited as service provider.
Village people worked together to prepare for the program in the sitio headed by Barangay Captain Maximo Natividad and the Alllights Village officers. They welcomed us with big smiles and excitement. The groupings for the brotherhood and sisterhood ceremony got to know each other and then proceed to the tree planting activity and home visitation.
The Department of Education Nueva Ecija agreed to support GPFF Philippines in the implementation of Alternative Learning System in five
sites of Alllights Village Nueva Ecija. DepEd and GPFF did the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Dr Tarcila Javier, Superintendent of the Division of DepEd Nueva Ecija was represented by Mrs. Robertita Fernando, ALS Supervisor and Dr Michael G. Zablan, President of GPFF Philippines was represented by Jocelyn Remigio, Alllights Village Program Manager, GPFF Philippines.

Among the participants, one of the dignitaries was the former Ambassador of South Korea to Japan, Mr. Joo Il Kim and three owners of a local newspaper in Seoul City. Governor Aurelio Umali and Nueva Ecija Provincial Government provided the hotel accommodation and welcome lunch. Mayor Eugenio Placido, Jr. of Rizal, Nueva Ecija expessed his deep gratitude to the great support given to his constituents in a far flung sitio. Mr. Sung Nak Cho, Chairman of Alllights Village, GPFF Korea, said in his speech “that it is a great honor and previledge to serve the poor and we will not stop until the village people will say all right.” Former Ambassador Joo Il Kim also expressed appreciation to the Philippines for helping Korea and sharing the Agricultural technology during the times that their country is still recovering after the Korean war. He was inspired with this initiative of GPFF helping the poor families of Philippines.

Due to heavy rain we cannot proceed with the program because everybody were wet.We cant resume with the groundbreaking ceremony and brotherhood and sisterhood ceremony, however, we moved to the barangay gymnasium and held our closing program. Dr. Ann Montejo-Arevalo began the program translated by Miss Jessica Kang. Messages were delivered and the money donation and solar lamps were turned- over to the Mayor and Barangay Captain.
The entire local government unit and the Global Peace volunteers helped a lot in making this event a success. The construction of the multipurpose hall is on-going, below is the building under construction.
